Abstract
Two neutral German authors who are experts on Turkey and Greece produced a well-researched work on the « permanent stable conflict » between two NATO countries. In their book, the authors have succeeded in presenting, in chronological sequence, a coherent reconstruction of the principal attitudes of Greek and Turkish thoughts about the Aegean and Cyprus conflict in the last ten years. Unfortunately, the usual attitude of mutual distrust and accusations started again after the Greek general elections of April 8, 1990, when Constantin Mitsotakis, the leader of the New Democracy Party, became Prime Minister, and this increasingly affected bilateral relations between the two countries. There is no political solution in sight for disputes as far as the leaders of both countries do not continue to change their mind, a change which actually had taken a good start in the « Spirit of Davos ». No one who is serious about knowing more on the subject can afford to bypass this book.
